What's new for Forgotten Hits in 2012?
Well, we've got a couple of things planned and already
in the works ... along with a few brand new ideas ... so you'll have to check back often to see just what we've got in store for you this year!
Disappearing in 2012 will be our side bar features
"Today's Forgotten Hit" and "kk's corner".
Replacing them (beginning on Monday, January 2nd) will
be a brand new feature called "Sound Advice".
(You'll find it in the "Side Bar" featured on the right-hand side of the web page ... scroll down to see each new updated entry as they appear!)
The idea behind "Sound Advice" is to make some
programming suggestions for all of the disc jockeys on the list regarding
playing a few things on their radio shows that they might not have otherwise considered. We're hoping to present these in a creative enough fashion that would
allow the jocks a way to present this feature as either a daily or weekly unique part of their own program ...
something that their listeners will
want to tune in for (and be sure not to miss). You know ... the whole concept
of "appointment radio" that we keep talking about.
Meanwhile, we think that even the most casual oldies
fans out there reading from home will also enjoy these
special new features simply because it keeps the whole concept of Forgotten Hits alive ...
plus we're counting on you guys to call or email your
favorite oldies stations and jocks and ask them to begin featuring our "Sound
Advice" on their programs!
Several other ideas are also being kicked around and
discussed ...
and we'll keep you posted if / when they develop.
